I pray his sentencing is not long: Hema Malini

Mumbai/New Delhi, May 6 (IBNS) After actor Salman Khan on Wednesday was convicted by a Mumbai court in connection with the 2002 hit-and-run case, actress-turned-parliamentarian Hema Malini said she was sad and would pray that his sentencing is less.

"I am feeling bad about it. Whatever is the court decision, they will do. I pray for him and pray that his sentencing is not long," said the former dream girl of Bollywood in New Delhi outside Parliament building.

All charges against Salman Khan have been proved.

He could end up in jail for 10 years as per law.

The 49-year-old actor faced charges of culpable homicide not amounting to murder.

Additional Sessions Judge DW Deshpande  pronounced his verdict in the case. The court told Salman that he was driving under the influence of liquor.
