I was not apprehensive at all: Tarun Anand on being a part of 'Nishabd'

| @indiablooms | Jun 24, 2022, at 11:47 pm

Mumbai: Actor Tarun Anand has joined hands with Mitu, a known content creator and founder of the YouTube channel Positive Thinkerz, for her new series "Nishabd''.

It has been produced and co-directed by Mitu and revolves around the LGBTQIA+ community. Tarun is all praise for Mitu and said, "It's always been a pleasure to work with Mitu and Positive Thinkerz and this time with Arshima as well. Both of them have the sensibility of emotions, direction, and how a story goes. Mitu is a great writer and I am happy to work with them because they thought about me for this part."

He revealed that it was his faith in Mitu and Arshima that made him say yes to the project. He further added, "It is a very sensitive part that needs to be shown. Audiences need to accept people for who they are rather than judging them and taunting them. Each to their own, it's their life and decision, the whole idea of life is being happy, so yes that's the reason. I wanted to do something for this community and also it's Pride Month. I am sure society will change and a lot of things will get accepted."

Asked if he was apprehensive about taking up the role because of the content, he said, "It's been a part of the society for a long time, it has just been under the wraps. It's really sad for people who go through this emotion. It's a fight amongst themselves. The rest of the world is fighting with the world but these people have a long fight within themselves."

Tarun also asserted that it's high time people started normalizing talking about same-sex relations. He said, "People should grow up. We are living in 2022, just accept people for who they are. If you keep abiding by the rules of society and the whole system then you won't be able to live. Just be happy and live freely."

He said he is honoured to be a part of the series which focuses on the LGBTQIA+ community and feels that such content will be made more soon. "In the coming years, things will change. On one hand, people say that humans have evolved, they have reached the moon and on the other hand it's sad that they just don't want people to be who they are and accept them," Tarun concluded.
