Mumbai, June 25 (IBNS): A Mumbai-based doctor has filed a complaint against makers of actor Shahid Kapoor's latest released movie Kabir Singh for putting the medical practitioners in a bad light, media reports said.

The movie is making a strong performance at the Box Office since it released on Friday.

However, the content and the story of the film has earned mixed response from fans and critics.

The movie showed the character of an alcoholic doctor, played by Shahid Kapoor, who falls for a medical student and then chooses a path of self-destruction after she gets married to some other guy.

Seeing that this could bring all doctors into a bad light, the doctor has filed a complaint with the Mumbai police and has also written a letter to the central Health Minister, Information and Broadcasting Ministry, State Health Ministry, and the Censor Board of Film Certification to stop the screening of this film Kabir Singh, reported Times Now.

According to the Mumbai-based doctor, the film has distorted the image of a doctor. The complaint states that doctors have been put into a negative light and shown in a negative manner in the film, reported the news channel.

The Bollywood movie is a remake of Telugu blockbuster Arjun Reddy co-starring Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey.

The movie is directed by Sandeep Vanga.

The movie has created a storm at the Indian Box Office.

Till Monday, the movie has earned Rs. 88 crores.

"#KabirSingh is sensational... ₹ 17.5 cr+ on a working day [Mon]? Most biggies don't collect that on a Sun... Eyes ₹ 200 cr... May challenge #Uri [highest grossing #Hindi film of 2019]... Fri 20.21 cr, Sat 22.71 cr, Sun 27.91 cr, Mon 17.54 cr. Total: ₹ 88.37 cr. India biz," film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted.
