Karva Chauth: Twinkle Khanna posts witty message on Twitter

Mumbai, Oct 8 (IBNS): It is Karva Chauth on Sunday and actress Twinkle Khanna made an interesting post for her husband on social media.

Twinkle, who is actor Akshay Kumar's wife, is known for her humorous posts.

And this time it was on the special Hindu festival day when Twinkle used her witty brain to wish people on the event.

"Scientists studying longest living mammals,bowhead whales found for a long life what is needed is a slow metabolism & not wives who fast:)," she tweeted.

Karva Chauth is a one-day festival celebrated by Hindu women in Northern India, in which married women fast from sunrise to moonrise for the safety and longevity of their husbands.

Actor Ayushmann Khurrana said he is also fasting on the ocassion.

In his strong message, the actor tweeted: "त से ताहिरा. Let's celebrate equality and change this patriarchal tradition. Join her if u can't dissuade her from fasting. #KarvaChauth."

He said: "I get slow when I fast. This is not easy. #fasting #KarvaChauth."
