Katrina Kaif, Vicky celebrate their first Karwa Chauth

Mumbai: Bollywood's loved couple Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal celebrated their first Karwa Chauth on Thursday.

Katrina shared several images of the celebration on Instagram.

Sharing the images, where Katrina and Vicky could be seen wearing traditional attire, the actress wrote: "First Karva Chauth."

Katrina looks stunning in the images as she sported a pink saree.

Vicky wore white kurta pyjama.

The couple married last year.

Katrina will next be seen in Phone Bhoot.

 What is Karwa Chauth?

Karwa Chauth is a festival celebrated by Hindus, more specifically Nepalis and , Northern-Western Indian women on the fourth day after Purnima (a full moon) in the month of Ashwin.

Like many Hindu festivals, Karwa Chauth is based on the lunisolar calendar which accounts for all astronomical positions, especially positions of the moon which is used as a marker to calculate important dates.

The festival falls on the fourth day after the full moon.

On Karwa Chauth, married women and unmarried women, especially observe fast from sunrise to moonrise for the safety and longevity of their husbands.

Where is it celebrated?

The Karwa Chauth fast is traditionally celebrated in the states of Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Punjab, Jammu, western Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh.
