MNS protests Mika Singh's 'Independence Day' comment on a promotional video

Mumbai, Aug 5 (IBNS): Indian singer Mika Singh sparked a controversy by commenting on the Independence Day of India and Pakistan, followed by a outrage by Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), media reports said.

The controversy traces its root in Mika Singh's comment on a promotional video on a promotional video for his upcoming show in Houston where the singer said he will celebrate India and Pakistan's Independence during his August 12 show in Houston.

"India got its independence on August 15 and Pakistan a day before. So, on August 12 show, I will celebrate the Independence of both the nations" Mika said in the video.

The MNS on Saturday morning came out in large numbers to protest against the singer's wish of celebrating the I-Day of Pakistan.

The members of the MNS even said they would not allow Mika to enter the state of Maharashtra and organise shows in future.

The singer, who often gets embroiled in controversy, is presently in New York and scheduled to host a show in Houston three days before the Independence Day of the country.
