Mumbai is the city of dreams but ....nightmares come true first: Varun Mitra

| @indiablooms | Oct 24, 2018, at 03:21 pm

Mumbai, Oct 24 (IBNS): Actor Varun Mitra made an impressive debut in his recent outing, Jalebi. Not the one to be deterred by the film's box office collections, the actor was recently a part of a Ted talk session and his speech was truly inspiring!

Varun Mitra left a lucrative commodity export career to pursue his passion of acting willingly taking the ups and downs in his stride.

Some insights from his session at the Ted Conference -

"There is Varun who is the shy, safe guy and then there's Mitra who’s edgy and takes risks. There is a battle going on between the two. The body always has a tendency to go back to what is comfortable"

"Tina, my friend was the voice of every close friend and family member. They all unitedly said one thing, great job, and great money, why risk it? But I did not listen to anybody."

"I walked into Aarmabh Nagar thinking the world is my oyster, I had just quit a high paying job. I had to wait for 3 hours for that audition."

"It was just the camera and me alone and all I could think about what was the life I had left behind. Truth is, the last 6 years have been hard. Lots of highs and lots of lows. They say Mumbai is the city of dreams but what they don't tell you is that the nightmares come true first."

"It's difficult to chase your dreams because it's a decision you have to take every single day of your life."
