Nandana Sen gets candid about Rang Rasiya

Mumbai, Nov 3 (IBNS): The daughter of Nobel laureate and Bharat Ratna Amartya Sen and Bengali writer Padma Shri Nabaneeta Dev Sen, Nandana Sen is gearing up for her upcoming movie opposite Randeep Hooda-'Rang Rasiya'.
In a candid interview the actress spoke about her upcoming release and other matters close to her heart.

On being asked why she took up a movie like ‘Rang Rasiya’, the actress said, “It was not an easy decision at all. But I think it was destined in a way. The film stands for democratisation of Gods, for equal rights for men and women and how critical it is for us to protect freedom of expression and about religious intolerance. All this drew me to the film.”

Talking about the nude scenes in the movie, the actress said: “By the time I decided to do the film, I had managed to conquer my feelings about it and Ketan was extremely sensitive about all my trepidation and made me very comfortable”.

On the personal front too, Nandana is in a happy place. Her husband John Mackinson, as she describes, is “very nerdy and likes poetry just like me (sic)” and is one of the many reasons she said her father and husband get along so well. The actress concluded saying Kolkata is her favourite city as her mother still lives there.

Presented by Jayantilal Gada (Pen), Rang Rasiya is directed by Ketan Mehta, produced by Deepa Sahi and Aanand Mahendroo. It stars Randeep Hooda, Nandana Sen and newcomer Triptha Parashar in lead roles. ‘Rang Rasiya’ is set to release on November 7, 2014.
