No Projapati promotion if people don't love its first song: Dev unveiling film poster

Kolkata/IBNS: After Tonic, Tollywood superstar-producer Dev has once again teamed up with filmmaker Avijit Sen whose upcoming project Projapati is releasing this December.

Almost two months prior to the film's release, Dev joined his co-actors, veteran Mamata Shankar, Shweta Bhattacharya, Koneenica Banerjee and others to unveil the first poster at West Bengal's film centre Nandan Friday.

The poster features Dev and his other lead actor and India's top star Mithun Chakraborty, who gave a miss to the event.

Confident of winning people's heart through this latest film, Dev said, "Like Tonic, we have tried to make the audience find joy watching Projapati. We believe Projapati will be able to win people's hearts even more."

When asked about the songs, which are always integral in Dev's films, the 39-year-old actor made a startling 'promise' saying, "If people do not like Projapati's first song, I will not do any promotion of the film. I promise.

"Songs are the crux of this film... As an actor and a producer, I always have a passion for songs. We believe Projapati's songs will find a place in people's hearts and will be timeless," the actor added.

Along with acting, Dev is co-producing the film along with Atanu Raychaudhuri, the duo that had delivered the superhit film Tonic in Christmas 2021 amid Covid-19 scare.

Speaking on his individual input in things like posters, Dev said, "I have inputs in everything in a film. We have made Projapati after Tonic because of the association and trust we have in our team of three (Dev, Avijit Sen and Atanu Raychaudhuri).

"We three believe in each other blindly. So I would say it's teamwork."

The film is slated for Dec 23 release.
