Mumbai, Jan 14 (IBNS): Makers of upcoming Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed movie Padmaavat urged fans to gear up to watch the movie as it will hit the theatre on Jan 25.

The name of the movie was recently changed from Padmavati to Padmaavat.

A series of controversies, which included threat from a fringe group, led to the delaying of the launch of the film from its initial date of Dec 1.

Urging fans to watch the movie, the official Twitter page of the film said: "Get ready to witness the epic tale #Padmaavat on 25th January 2018, in theatres near you. Now also in 3D, Imax 3D, Tamil & Telugu.@RanveerOfficial @deepikapadukone @shahidkapoor @aditiraohydari @Viacom18Movies @Bhansali_Prod @TSeries."

Actors Shahid Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh posted similar message to fans on their Twitter page.

Earlier, amid controversies, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) passed Padmaavat with few edits.

Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali's movie will now clash on the box office with Akshay Kumar's Padman.

Deepika is playing the character of Rani Padmini in the movie.
