PIKU wins six awards at 'BIG Star Entertainment Awards 2015'

Mumbai, Dec 15 (IBNS) MSM Motion Pictures' much celebrated family comedy drama, Piku has kick-started the Indian film awards season by sweeping the Big Star Entertainment Awards 2015.

The film collected six awards in the following categories:

Best Actor of the Year- Amitabh Bachchan

Best Actress of the Year- Deepika Padukone

Most Entertaining Actor in a Drama Role- Amitabh Bachchan

Most Entertaining Actress in a Drama Role- Deepika Padukone

Most Entertaining Drama Film

Big Star Nayee Soch Film of the Year

Piku, which turned out to be one of the biggest hits of 2015 and has been critically acclaimed globally, was directed by Shoojit Sircar and top lined by actors Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan. The film has been on a winning spree since August this year, having already bagged top honours at the Indian Film Festivals of Australia, Russia and Japan.

Piku is a co-production of MSM Motion Pictures, Saraswati Entertainment and Rising Sun Films. The film was distributed worldwide by Yash Raj Films.

Shoojit Sircar, Director of Piku, said, "Piku has been a true labour of love for all of us. We are gratified by all the honours coming our way. None of us had imagined that this quirky tale of a father-daughter relationship will be able to garner such love globally.
