Kolkata/IBNS: Tollywood veteran Prosenjit Chatterjee is set to return as Kakababu, a fictional character sketched by late Bengali author Sunil Gangopadhyay, onscreen.

The film will be directed by Chandrasish Ray and produced by SVF and NIdeas Creations and Productions.

The mahurat of the film was held at SVF office on Friday.

Prosenjit had earlier featured as Kakababu under senior filmmaker Srijit Mukherji's direction in Mishawr Rawhoshyo (2013), Yeti Obhijaan (2017) and Kakababur Protyaborton (2022).

This fresh creative direction promises a compelling fusion of history, adventure, and unforeseen twists.

With a bold commitment to innovation, Vijaynagar’er Hirey aims to redefine adventure storytelling, promising audiences an experience unlike any before.
