Kolkata/IBNS: Khakee renewed its franchise with a second season titled Khakee: The Bengal Chapter and its trailer was launched by Netflix on Wednesday.

The first season of Khakee: The Bihar Chapter was a hit series on Netflix and the makers came back with another season anticipating a similar response from the audience globally.

Speaking at the launch, Jeet says, "Every film itself has its own story. Every character is a part of its own story. So I'm happy that I'm a part of this story and I tried to play Arjun Maitra just as the writer and director thought it would be.

"Hopefully the audience will like my performance when the series drops on March 20."

This series is directed by Neeraj Pandey, Debatma Mandal and Tushar Kanti Ray.

Apart from Jeet, the series features Bengali stalwart Prosenjit Chatterjee, actors Parambrata Chattopadhyay, Saswata Chatterjee.

Speaking of his role, Prosenjit says, "For the last 14-15 years, I have been trying to do something different. I have done a lot of different characters. I don't think that there is any other character left that I have not tried out.

"But for the last 40 years, I have not done any character like this one that I did in Khakee: The Bengal Chapter."
