| @indiablooms | May 13, 2021, at 09:46 pm

Chennai/IBNS: Southern superstar Rajinikanth, 70, received Covid-19 vaccine on Thursday, his daughter Soundarya said.

In a tweet, Soundarya wrote: "Our Thalaivar gets his vaccine. Let us fight and win this war against Corona virus together."

It is not known whether this was his first or second dose.

Many film stars, including Rajnikanth's friend and longtime colleague Kamal Hassan, have also shared their pictures of vaccination on social media.

India is currently battling a second wave of Covid-19 and experts, including the WHO, have said vaccination is one of the effective ways to curb the spread of the virus.

In the last 24 hours 3,62,727 new cases were registered and 4,120 deaths died of the infection.
