Veteran Indian actress Rakhee Gulzar has joined hands with filmmaker duo Nandita Roy-Shiboprosad Mukherjee in their next directorial venture 'Amar Boss'.

Rakhee will play the protagonist in the film, Windows Production has confirmed to IBNS.

Apart from Rakhee Gulzar, the film will feature Shiboprosad himself and actress Srabanti Chatterjee in the lead.

The filming will begin in January 2024.

On roping in Rakhee Gulzar, Nandita Roy said, "There are some actors with whom working is like a dream. Rakhee-di is one of them. I penned the story keeping Rakhee-di in mind, so I am very happy to get an opportunity to work with her."

Shiboprosad says, "We wanted to place the full script before Rakhee-di and not its sketch. She liked it immediately after a script reading session in Mumbai."

Rakhee Gulzar was last seen in Goutam Halder's 2019 Bengali film 'Nirbaan'.

Prior to 'Nirbaan', she was seen in Bengali films way back in 2003 with iconic filmmaker late Rituparno Ghosh's 'Shubho Mahurat'.

Meanwhile, Nandita Roy-Shiboprosad Mukherjee have delivered a massive hit, 'Raktabeej', which was released in Durga Puja this year.
