Filmmaker Ridley Scott promises to take movie lovers on a nostalgic and thrilling ride to ancient Rome with makers unveiling the first trailer of Gladiator II.

The movie is scheduled to be released later this year.

The lead role features Paul Mescal and the trailer promises to be thrilling.

The lead role features actors Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal, Denzel Washington, Connie Nielsen, Joseph Quinn, and Fred Hechinger.

The movie is scheduled to release on November 15.

The first poster of the movie featuring Mescal was released by makers on Tuesday where the lead actor could be seen dressed as a gladiator and gearing up for a battle in the arena.

The original Gladiator was released over two decades ago in 2000 and took the theatre by storm.

It featured Russell Crowe, Joaquin Phoenix, Connie Nielsen, Tomas Arana, Ralf Möller, Oliver Reed, Djimon Hounsou, Derek Jacobi, John Shrapnel, Richard Harris, and Tommy Flanagan.
