Salman Yusuff Khan demands 15 lakhs to promote his film 'Love U Family'

Mumbai, June 7 (IBNS): The dancing hunk of India, Salman Yusuff Khan, who is all set to play the lead in his upcoming film 'Love U Family' has backed out from promoting the film after having completed the shoot.

Rumours have it that the 'Dance India Dance' winner felt like the film was woman oriented and had less scope for his character.

Confirming this, the producer Vipul Diwani explained, "After watching the trailer of the film, Salman left the theatre on a positive note. However, to my surprise the next day I got a text message from his manager Kapil Sharma mentioning that Salman felt the film depicts a women oriented subject and that current posters that have been designed have our leading lady Aksha Pardasany in focus and feels his presence is missing."

"From day one, our storyline has been that of a social message for girls and now that he has an issue, it wouldn't be possible for us to change the film. Salman Yusuff Khan had come onboard after the narration of the story and the theme of the film was made clear to him then. It appears unprofessional on his behalf to now have a problem with the same. Referring to the posters,  as the heroine’s poster was designed first Salman was unhappy, but we informed that we would be making his posters and we made it too," said he.

Furthermore, he gives a different angle to what could be a major reason for Salman having taken a step back from the promotional activities, "During an elaborate discussion with his manager Kapil Sharma, we were also made to realize that he feels this film propagates against 'Love Jihad'. And if he participated in the promotions, it would go against his beliefs. The sudden realization of this feels ridiculous, it should have been thought of at an earlier stage," said the producer.

"Lastly, his manager Kapil Sharma has demanded for 15 lakhs for Salman and informed us only then he would be able to attend any of the promotional activities of our film, 'Love U Family'. We have been updating him of all our promotional activities much in advance; initially his manager agreed that Salman would attend them all. But Alas!! He did not attend the music release of the film held on 15th May though we had informed him much in advance. Slowly and gradually being conspicuous with his attendance one fine day his Manager Kapil Sharma disclosed these facts on inquiry,” concludes Vipul with distaste.
