Spanish actor Julian Ortega, who gained popularity with his performance in Netflix drama series 'Elite', has died after reportedly suffering from cardiac arrest.

He was 41.

Spain’s National Union of Actors and Actresses confirmed his death.

According to reports, the actor collapsed on Zahora beach in Barbate on August 25.

The 41-year-old was initially reported to have drowned but emergency and lifeguard services have since confirmed that he was on the shore when he went into cardiorespiratory arrest, The Olive Press reported.

Parademics tried to revive the actor for half an hour but was later pronounced dead.

Several Spanish actors have mourned the demise of the actor and posted their emotional notes on Instagram.

"My friend @lauracepedagolferichs just called me to give me the bad news that Julian Ortega Rodriguez @julianortega_7 has passed away, a tremendous actor and a colleague of integrity, honesty and as good a person as his parents Gloria Muñoz and José Antonio Ortega," posted actor Silvia Marsó on Instagram.

She also shared an image with the actor where both of them could be seen smiling on the camera while clicking the selfie.

"I can't even imagine how these parents, colleagues, so beloved in the profession, are feeling. How horrible," she said.

Actor Paco Collado posted on X: "It was a great pleasure @julianortega_7 to play your father in @elpuebloserie you left us with sympathy, generosity and professionalism, many hugs my friend and also to your family, a real shame in the prime of your youth, RIP Julian."
