Kolkata/IBNS: Actor Anirban Bhattacharya has announced he will not play popular Bengali fictional sleuth Byomkesh Bakshi ever after Srijit Mukherji's upcoming web series 'Durgo Rawhoshyo'.

Anirban, who played Byomkesh for six years, has announced 'Durgo Rawhoshyo' will be the last work as Byomkesh.

Commenting on playing the role of Byomkesh since 2017, Anirban said, "I have played Byomkesh numerous times on screen, been the Creative Director also for one season but I’m delighted to end my journey of playing this iconic character of Byomkesh Bakshi, with Durgo Rawhoshyo.

"Thus, it will always have a special place in my heart. Lastly, I really feel blessed, and I think it’s a bonus that I get to share this with the legendary director Srijit Mukherji."

Anirban made the announcement at the poster launch of the upcoming series.

In an exclusive video titled 'Shesh Baar', the actor eloquently shares his sentiments and extends his gratitude to all those who have been part of the Byomkesh franchise for many years.

Durgo Rawhoshyo will start streaming on Hoichoi from October 19.
