Mumbai, Dec 19 (IBNS): Bollywood actress Sunny Leone on Tuesday cited security concern as the reason behind not attending her scheduled New Year eve show in Bengaluru.

She said as the police mentioned they will not be able to ensure her safety and of those who would want to attend the event hence she decided to drop the idea.

"Since the police of Bangalore have publicly said that they will not be able to ensure mine & all who attend safety for my New Years event,my team & I feel, safety of the people should always come first therefore I cannot attend.God bless & I wish everyone a safe & happy New Year!," Sunny tweeted.

The Karnataka government had earlier refused to give permission for the event following protests by Kannada outfits.

Following this move, the organizers had moved to the court so that the event is allowed in the city.
