Swedish DJ Avicii dies in Oman

Oman, Apr 21 (IBNS): One of the most popular Swedish DJs,  Avicii, has died in Oman, leaving his fans in shock, media reports said on Saturday.

He was 28.

His representative said in a statement as quoted by BBC: "It is with profound sorrow that we announce the loss of Tim Bergling, also known as Avicii."

"The family is devastated and we ask everyone to please respect their need for privacy in this difficult time," read the statement.

Avicii was a Swedish musician, DJ, remixer and record producer.

Some of his most famous songs are "I Could Be the One" with Nicky Romero, "Wake Me Up", "You Make Me", "X You", "Hey Brother", "Addicted to You", "The Days", "The Nights", "Levels", "Waiting for Love", "Without You" and "Lonely Together".

The cause of his death is not known.

Several international stars have condoled his death.

Singing icon Madonna tweeted: "So Sad....... So Tragic. Good Bye Dear Sweet Tim. Gone too Soon."

Singer Dua Lipa said: "Such sad news to hear about Avicii passing. Too young and way too soon. My condolences go out to his family, friends and fans x."
