Veteran actress Waheeda Rehman turns 82

Mumbai/IBNS: Iconic Indian actress Waheeda Rehman, who has worked in films of multiple languages, turned 82 on Monday.

Rehman, who worked mainly in Hindi films, began her acting journey way back in 1955 with Telegu film Rojulu Marayi.

She is best known for her Hindi films like Pyaasa, Kaagaz ke Phool, Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam, all of which were directed by Guru Dutt.

Some of her other notable works are Guide, Neel Kamal, Ram Aur Shyam, Khamoshi.

She had won the National Film Award for Best Actress for her work in 1971 film Reshman Aur Shera.

A day after her birthday, the Madhya Pradesh government will be honouring the veteran actress with Kishore Kumar Samman, media reports said.
