Wonder Woman earns big in box office, beats superhero stereotypes

Los Angeles, June 6 (IBNS): Breaking the records of the stereotypical male superhero films, Hollywood movie Wonder Woman earned a big opening in the box office and the largest weekend collection, despite being driven by a female director, media reports.

Wonder Woman earned $100.5 million in the first weekend domestically.

The film also stood out to be unique in its viewership too with 52% of them as women, according to Hollywood Reporter.

The film has earned $122.5 million as an additional income worldwide.

The film, directed by Patty Jenkins, crossed the previous best opening weekend collection by Fifty Shades of Grey.
