Ajaz Patel third cricketer to pick 10 wickets in an innings, joins Jim Laker and Anil Kumble club
Mumbai/IBNS: New Zealand spin bowler Ajaz Patel created history at the Wankhede Stadium here by picking all 10 wickets of India in the first innings of second Test, a feat achieved only by two others.
Patel conceded 119 runs to the Indians batsmen in return of 10 wickets including a controversial one of Virat Kohli.
The record of picking 10 wickets in an innings was created first by late English cricketer Jim Laker and former Indian spinning legend Anil Kumble.
On Patel achieving the feat, Kumble tweeted, "Welcome to the club #AjazPatel #Perfect10 Well bowled! A special effort to achieve it on Day1 & 2 of a test match."
