The Olympics Games this year in Tokyo were scheduled to be starting from July 24.

The historic decision was taken after a telephonic conversation between IOC president Thomas Bach and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in the wake of the mayhem caused across the globe by the novel coronavirus.

The Olympics Games have been the latest sporting event to be impacted by the coronavirus, which originated in China's Wuhan city.
