Anish Bhanwala increases India's gold medal to 8 at ISSF Jr WC

New Delhi, July 17 (UNI): Young shooter Anish Bhanwala clinched gold in the 25m rapid fire pistol event increasing India's gold count to eight in the ongoing ISSF Junior World Cup in Suhl, Germany, on Wednesday.

The 2018 Commonwealth gold medallist scored 584 in the qualification round and shot 29 in the final to seal top spot.

Other Indian in the fray for the finals, Adarsh Singh and Agneya Kaushik had to settle with fourth and sixth spot respectivley with score 17 and 9.

Egor Ismakov of Russia fetched silver with 23, while Germany's Florian Peter took bronze with 19.

India's total medal tally till now is 18 with 8 gold, 7 silver and 3 bronze.
