Athlete Sudha Singh returned to India with high fever, tested negative for Zika

Bengaluru, Aug 23 (IBNS): Athlete Sudha Singh, who returned from the Rio Olympics with high fever, has tested negative for Zika virus, media reports said on Tuesday.

She has been diagnosed to have swine flu or H1N1 virus.

After she complained of high fever and severe body ache, her blood samples were sent to a virology institute in Pune for Zika testing.

The doubts came as she returned from Rio and the virus Zika has become a matter of concern in Brazil.

The Karnataka government has reportedly said it will pay for Sudha's medical expenses.
