Axar Patel replaces injured Ravindra Jadeja in Asia Cup squad

Mumbai: Injured Ravindra Jadeja has been ruled out from the ongoing Asia Cup and Axar Patel has been named as his replacement, BCCI said in a statement on Saturday.

Jadeja played a significant role in India's victory against Pakistan in a group stage match of Asia Cup.

"Ravindra Jadeja has sustained a right knee injury and is ruled out of the tournament. He is currently under the supervision of the BCCI medical team," BCCI said in a statement.

His replacement, Axar Patel was earlier named as one of the standbys in the squad and will join the team in Dubai soon.
