BCCI committee meets to formalize 2014-15 season plans

Mumbai, July 26 (IBNS) The Technical and Tour Programme and Fixtures Committees of the BCCI met at the Cricket Centre earlier Saturday, to formalise plans and preparations for the 2014-15 season.

The Technical Committee meeting was chaired by  Anil Kumble, and the Tour Programme and Fixtures Committee was chaired by  Rajeev Shukla.

Technical Committee Meeting:

The Technical Committee has made the following recommendations to the Working Committee of the BCCI:

1.     Limited-overs tournaments be played before the Ranji Trophy in the 2014-15 season, to provide domestic cricketers an opportunity to perform before the Indian team for the ICC CWC 2015 is picked.

2.     The age-group for the Col. C.K. Nayudu Trophy be changed from under-25 to under-23. The under-23 teams will be called ‘A’ teams, and only three Ranji Trophy cricketers (irrespective of their age) will be permitted in the playing XI.

3.     The NKP Salve Challenger Trophy and BCCI Corporate Trophy be deferred for the season, owing to the crowded domestic calendar.

4.     All ICC Playing Conditions pertaining to limited-overs cricket be implemented in domestic matches as well. This includes a new ball from each end, and field restrictions.

Tour Programme and Fixtures Committee Meeting:

The Tour Programme and Fixtures Committee decided the venues for the series between India and the West Indies, to be played in October-November 2014. The venues are as follows:

ODIs: Kolkata, Vishakhapatnam, Cuttack, Dharamshala, Kochi

Tests: Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad

T20 International: Delhi

The exact date-wise match-schedule will be finalised later on the basis of logistics, said Sanjay Patel, Hony. Secretary, BCCI.
