Mumbai, Feb 21 (IBNS): The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) congratulated the Indian Women's Cricket Team for winning the ICC Women's World Cup Qualifier 2017, in Sri Lanka.

Needing 245 runs in the final at the P. Sara, Colombo against South Africa on Tuesday, India secured a thrilling last-ball victory with captain Harmanpreet Kaur keeping her calm with an unbeaten knock of 41 off 41 balls.

With eight to win from two balls, Harmanpreet struck a six and collected two runs off the final ball to secure a victory.

It was also India Women's highest successful run chase in ODIs.

Having already secured their ICC Women's World Cup berth courtesy a dominant run in the tournament, India finished on a high, staying unbeaten in the event.

It was an all-round show from India as Deepti Sharma topped the run charts while Ekta Bisht finished as the leading wicket-taker in the tournament.
