Glasgow, Aug 25 (IBNS): Indian badminton star PV Sindhu on Friday reached the semi-finals of the BWF World Championship by beating China's Sun Yu.

Sindhu defeated her opponent 21-14, 21-9 in the quarter-final clash of the tournament.

She ensured at least a medal for India with the victory.

BAI Media tweeted: "The 2-time bronze medallists assures a medal at the Worlds for India! PV Sindhu defeats Sun Yu 21-14, 21-9 to enter #2017BWC SEMIS. ."

The Rio Olympics silver medallist took the match under control quite strongly and did not give much oppurtunity to her opponent to bounce back in the game.
