Champions Trophy: India congratulates Indian team for silver

New Delhi, June 18 (IBNS): Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday congratulated Indian hockey team for winning silver medal in the Champions Trophy on Friday.

He said the effort put up by the Indian players in the final against Australia were brilliant.

"Congrats to our Hockey Team for a spirited performance in Champions Trophy finals. Their effort has been brilliant. We're proud of the team," Modi tweeted.

India settled for a silver medal after Australia defeated them in the final of the 36th Hero Champions Trophy in London on Friday.

The final scoreline read 1-3 in favour of Australia.
