Bengaluru, Apr 22 (IBNS) Chennai Super Kings defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 27 runs at an Indian Premier League match here on Wednesday.

Dwayne Smith(39) and Suresh Raina(62) were the standout performers with the bat for the Chennai Super Kings as the side posted 181 runs for the loss of eight wickets.

Raina smashed 6 sixes and 4 fours during his knock.

Faf Du Plessis chipped in with a cameo knock of 33 runs towards the end.

Chasing a target of 182 runs the Royal Challengers Bangalore could never step up the gears and accelerate due to some well-disciplined bowling by the CSK bowlers. The side were restricted to 154 for eight in 20 overs.

Ashish Nehra bowled the best spell of IPL 2015 so far as he notched up 4 wickets by conceding just 10 runs.

RCB captain Virat Kohli was their highest scorer in the match with 51 runs off 42 balls.
