Chris Cairns posts video to give update on his health condition to his fans
Wellington: Former New Zealand all-rounder Chris Cairns,who suffered a spinal stroke following emergency heart surgery last month, has posted a video of himself on Twitter and said he faces a 'long road' to recovery ahead.
He posted the video to update his condition.

"It’s been a big 6 wks. On 4th August I suffered a Type A aortic dissection, a rare but serious condition. I required emergency surgery and from there a range of complications ensued and I ended up suffering a spinal stroke. A long road ahead, but I’m grateful to be here," he tweeted along with the video.

Cairns has been left paralysed in both legs by the stroke, and was briefly placed on life support in August after suffering complications during heart surgery, reports The Guardian.
In his career, the cricketer played 62 Tests, 215 one-day internationals and two Twenty20 internationals for New Zealand.
He was active between 1989 to 2006.
