Kolkata/IBNS/UNI: Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) President Snehasish Ganguly Sunday presented Virat Kohli with a gold-plated bat that had "Happy Birthday Virat" mentioned on it.

Below it was inscribed "You are a symbol of dedication and a living proof that age is just a number".

Virat also cut a giant cake especially made with a Virat statute atop the dark chocolate cake with blue icing.

Virat Kohli hit his 49th ODI ton against South Africa at the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 at the iconic Eden Gardens here on Sunday.

The brilliant hundred from Kohli sees him join Sachin Tendulkar at the top of the list of most tons in One Day International cricket.

Riding on Virat Kohli’s sizzling knock of 101 runs and a strong show by bowlers, India defeated South Africa by 243 runs in a World Cup encounter in Kolkata’s Eden Gardens on Sunday.
