CT: Ex-cricketer Aamir Sohail accuses Pakistan of 'fixing' matches

Islamabad, June 16 (IBNS): Former Pakistan cricketer Aamir Sohail has indirectly accused Pakistan team of match fixing during the ongoing Champions Trophy tournament.

Pakistan defeated England to reach the final of the tournament this week.

India and Pakistan will face in the final of the tournament on Sunday.

Sohail accused that  external forces were responsible for the national cricket side's strong performance in the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy.

Pakistan was defeated in their opening group stage match by India.

Pakistan then beat South Africa and Sri Lanka in the group stage and then defeated England in the semi-final to reach the final.

"I need to tell Sarfraz that you have not created a wonder here...We are going to congratulate you when you play well but we'll also criticise you when you don't," Sohail told during an interview to a Pakistani news channel.

"They [Pakistan cricket team] should not be flying too high on the success so far in  the moment because we know that they've been brought to the current position," he accused.

He said: "We all know what happens and what not, and I can’t tell you how they have won the games, I can’t name them.”

India defeated Bangladesh to reach the final of the tournament.

In 2007, India and Pakistan had played in the final of the inaugural World T20 tournament.

India had defeated Pakistan to lift the trophy, making captain MS Dhoni a new icon in the nation.
