CWG: India's Shushila Devi wins silver in women's 48kg Judo, Vijay Kumar Yadav bags bronze in men's 60 kg
Indian judoka Shushila Devi narrowly lost out to South Africa's Michaela Whitebooi in the women's 48kg final, to bag the silver medal at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022.
She was a favourite for the gold medal after her performances in the earlier rounds but a late move by the South African stunned her.
Sushila Devi defeated Mauritius' Priscilla Morand in the women's 48kg semifinals to assure at least a silver medal for India at the Commonwealth Games 2022 earlier in the day.
A Commonwealth Games 2014 silver medalist, she beat Priscilla Morand of Mauritius in 2:52 minutes in the judo women - 48kg semi-final.
Meanwhile, Vijay Kumar Yadav also won bronze in men's kg judo after beating Cyprus' Petros Christodoulides.
