CWG: Prime Minister Narendra Modi wishes women Table Tennis Team over gold medal victory

New Delhi, Apr 8 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday congratulated the Indian women Table Tennis Team for winning the gold medal at the 21st Commonwealth Games.

PMO India tweeted: "A well deserved and historic Gold for the Indian women’s Table Tennis team! Congratulations to the team. Delighted at this accomplishment: PM @narendramodi #GC2018 #GC2018TableTennis."

Giving good news to people back in India, country's women table tennis team defeated Singapore to clinch gold in the 21st Commonwealth Games here on Sunday.

The Indian team defeated their opponents 3-1.

India has been performing strongly in the CWG since its start this time.

Official handle of Indian Olympic Association tweeted: "Making history today for #TeamIndia Women's #TableTennis team winning their first #Gold! So proud of you girls!! #GoldQuest in #GoldCoast #GC2018 #CommonwealthGames #GC2018TableTennis #Congratulations."
