CWG: Vikas Thakur clinches silver

Glasgow, July 29 (IBNS) Indian weightlifter Vikas Thakur clinched silver in the men's 85kg weightlifting event of the ongoing Commonwealth Games here on Tuesday.

Producing a strong performance,  Thakur lifted 333kg (150+183) to win the medal.

The gold medal was won by  Richard Patterson of New  with a total lift of  335kg (151+184).

Canadian weightlifter Pascal Plamondon grabbed bronze with a lift of 333kg (151+182)

Thakur won the silver medal due to lesser bodyweight.
