DD beat SRH by 4 runs in a last over sizzler

Visakhapatnam, Apr 18 (IBNS): In a tense encounter, JP Duminy put up an all-round show to help his Delhi Daredevils defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by four runs in an Indian Premier League (IPL) clash here on Saturday.

Posting 167 runs for the loss of four wickets, Delhi bowlers finished their task by restricting Hyderabad outfit to 163 for eight in their 20 overs.

Skipper JP Duminy shined both with the bat as he hammered 54 runs and then with his bowling as he took four wickets by giving away 17 runs in his four overs to help his side ensure a victory.

England's Ravi Bopara remained the top scorer for Hyderabad with his 41.

David Warner (28) and Shikhar Dhawan (18) gave Hyderabad a strong start at the start of the run chase as they posted 50 runs int he opening wicket stand.

Duminy struck twice and picked up the wickets of both the openers to reduce the side from 50 for none to 51 for the loss of two wickets.

Ashish Reddy  (15) and Karn Sharma nearly snatched the match away from Delhi by adding crucial 30 runs in the seventh wicket partnership. But it was Reddy's run out in the last over followed by Sharma's departure that shattered Hyderabad's chance of clinching the match.


Coulter-Nile  executed the run out and also took the wicket as it was his final over which completely changed the game and helped Delhi win the clash.

Earlier, Shreyas Iyer (60) and Duminy added 78 runs in the secodn wicket partnership that help Delhi post a competitive 167 runs on the scorecard.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar took a wicket by giving away 21 runs.
