Ex-Indian batsman Virender Sehwag turns 40

New Delhi, Oct 20 (IBNS): Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag on Saturday turned 40.

The world of cricket wished him on the special day.

"Heartiest wishes to you on your Birthday, Virubhai. Tum jiyo hazaaron saal saal ke din hon pachaas hazaar. @virendersehwag #viruHappyBirthday," tweeted cricketer Ishant Sharma.

Ex-Indian cricketer VVS Laxman said: "Happy birthday to a person who gives so much delight and happiness @virendersehwag #HappyBirthdayViru."

BCCI tweeted: "Happy Birthday @virendersehwag. On the swashbuckling opener's Birthday, we relive his iconic ODI double hundred he scored against West Indies

Widely regarded as one of the most destructive batsmen of all time, Sehwag played as an aggressive right-handed opening batsman and also bowled part-time right-arm off-spin.

He played his first One Day International in 1999 and joined the Indian test side in 2001.
