Garbine Muguruza beats Serena Williams to win French Open title
Paris, June 4 (IBNS): Stopping her supremacy, Spain's Garbine Muguruza beat world number one US tennis star Serena Williams to lift the French Open women's singles title on Saturday.
This is her first Grand Slam title win here.
Fourth seed Muguruza beat her American opponent 7-5 6-4.
A win here would have taken Williams to her 22nd Grand Slam singles title. It would have helped her tie Steffi Graf's Open-era record.
