Hashim Amla 's 23 runs helps SA score 72/2

New Delhi, Dec 6 (IBNS) Skipper Hashim Alma played a patient knock off unbeaten 23 runs while AB de Villiers (11*) remained unbeaten at the end of the fourth day of the fourth Test match against India here on Sunday.

Posting 72 runs for the loss of two wickets in 72 overs, India still needs eight wickets to win the Test while the visitors will require to play the entire fifth day or chase down 409 runs to clinch the game.

Temba Bavuma scored 34 runs with his willow before losing his wicket R Ashwin while Dean Elgar departed after scoring 4 runs.

Alma scored a patient innings of  23 runs off 207 balls.

Ajnkya Rahane scored unbeaten 100 runs while Virat Kohli contributed 88 runs which helped India post 267 runs for the loss of five wickets in 100.1 overs.

Morne Morkel took three wickets for South Africa.

South Africans were bowled out for 121 runs in their first innings in reply to India's 334 runs.

India have already taken a series- winning lead of  series 2-0
