Imran Khan can establish peace between India, Pakistan: Kapil Dev

New Delhi, Sept 11 (IBNS): India's World Cup winning skipper Kapil Dev believes that Pakistan's new PM Imran Khan will be able to establish peace between the two neighbouring nations.

"Imran Khan, well done. I hope that he will be able to bring peace to India and Pakistan," the former India captain told Khaleej Times.

"I think the big question is if Imran as prime minister can give everybody in his country three meals a day," Kapil said.

"Can he give the youth of Pakistan jobs? People like me who have played cricket with him like to see him perform as the prime minister of Pakistan," he added.

Kapil Dev said he spoke to Imran Khan once after he became the PM of the nation.

"I have spoken to him only once since he became the prime minister. What a journey he has had. To be prime minister of any country, it takes lot of discipline, dedication and hard work. He has worked very hard to reach where he has reached today," the former India captain said.

Pakistan's Imran Khan was the captain of the cricket side which won the World Cup in 1992.

Kapil Dev and Imran have played several times against each other in the cricket field.
