India aim to finish pale T20 World Cup campaign with Namibia match on high note today

Dubai/IBNS: Virat Kohli-led India are looking to finish their disappointing T20 World Cup 2021 campaign on a high note defeating presumably weaker side Namibia by a big margin in their last group match here on Monday.

After New Zealand sealed a semifinal berth by outplaying Afghanistan on Sunday, India crashed out of the tournament registering their worst performance in an International Cricket Council (ICC) tournament since 2007.

Going against all hopes, India began their World Cup journey with utter disappointment by getting outplayed by arch-rival Pakistan in a prestige match.

Adding all the more trouble to Kohli's men, India lost their second adventure against New Zealand, dashing their own hopes to reach the knockout stage.

Succeeding widespread criticisms, Kohli-led Team India bounced back against comparatively weaker teams Afghanistan and  Scotland by huge margins but all that came too late.

Meanwhile, the duo of Kohli and Indian head coach Ravi Shastri will have their last match together in Dubai, ending a significant chapter of Indian cricket.

While Kohli has announced stepping down as T20 captain, Shastri's tenure ends on Monday.
