India beat Australia to lift U-19 World Cup, only country to win it four times

Mount Maunganui (NZ), Feb 3 (IBNS): India beat Australia in the finals of the Under-19 World Cup cricket match by eight wickets after Australians set 217 runs as target for India.

India not only remained unbeaten throughout the tournament but also became the first nation to win the trophy four times.

Winning the toss, Australia came out to bat and were bowled out to 216 in 47.2 overs.

Jonathan Merlo was the top scorer for Australia with 76 runs from 102 balls.

Ishan Porel was the best bowler for India with a figure of 2/30 in 7 overs.

India opened with a requirement to chase the target at an overrate of 4.34 runs.

A century knock by Manjot Kalra eased India to victory.
