India selectors name squad for World T20, Harmanpreet Kaur to lead national side

Mumbai, Sept 28 (IBNS):  Harmanpreet Kaur has been named as the skipper of the Indian women cricket team for the upcoming World T20.

The event will be hosted by West Indies this year.

West Indies had hosted the World Cup in 2007.

The sixth edition of the tournament will be held in the West Indies from Nov 9 to 24.

India are placed in Group B along with Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan and Ireland in the 10-team event.

The tournament kicks off with the match between India and New Zealand in Guyana.

India will face arch-rival Pakistan on Nov 11.
