IPL: KKR beat PBKS by 5 wickets

Ahmedabad/UNI: Kolkata Knight Riders produced a clinical performance with both bat and ball to beat Punjab Kings by 5 wickets in match No 21 of the IPL 2021, here on Monday.

Kolkata Knight Riders restricted Punjab Kings to 123/9 in 20 overs after winning the toss and opting to bowl first.

For Punjab, opener Mayank Agarwal top-scored with 31 off 34 balls and Chris Jordan contributed with an 18-ball 30.

Prasidh Krishna picked three wickets while Pat Cummins and Sunil Narine scalped two wickets apiece for KKR.

In reply, captain Eoin Morgan (47 not out off 40 balls) and Rahul Tripathi (41 off 32 balls) played valuable knocks as KKR gunned down the target in just 16.4 overs.

With this win, Eoin Morgan's men also ended their 4-match losing streak in IPL 2021 and are placed fifth with four points from six games.

On the other hand, Punjab Kings are now at sixth place in the points table.

Punjab Kings: 123 for 9 in 20 overs (Mayank Agarwal 31, Chris Jordan 30; Prasidh Krishna 3/30, Sunil Narine 2/22).

KKR: 126 for 5 in 16.4 overs (Rahul Tripathi 41, Eoin Morgan 47 not out).
