ISL: Post win, Chennaiyin FC captain Elano arrested by Goa Police

Panaji, Dec 21 (IBNS) It was an eventful day of sorts for Chennaiyin FC skipper Elano Blumer, as he lifter the ISL trophy and moments later was arrested by Goa Police for allegedly assaulting an official from the opponent's team.

Aaccording to reports, the 32 year old Brazilian was involved in an altercation in the tunnel, post match. He allegedly assaulted and abused Dattaraj Salgaonkar, the co-owner of FC Goa.

Police arrested Elano after Salgaonkar filed an FIR and the men in khaki slapped Section 341 of IPC against him.

The Brazilian was however granted bail later.

Meanwhile, Goa CM Laxmikant Parsekar, who had come to witness the final, blamed poor referring for Goa's loss and left moments before the prize distribution ceremony.

He was quoted by The Hindu as saying, "I left the stadium when, apart from poor refereeing, I noticed the Chennaiyin FC captain insulting, abusing and assaulting Mr. Salgaonkar."
