Kings XI Punjab to face Sunrisers Hyderabad in Mohali today

Mohali, Apr 19 (IBNS): After beating MS Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings, Kings XI Punjab are now ready to face Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League in Mohali on Thursday.

After KXIP's explosive batsman Chris Gayle's 'gayle-storm' in his last match at Mohali, the home team managed to escape unscathed following a blitzkrieg by former Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

If Gayle entertained the home crowd by scoring a brisk 63 runs from just 33 balls, Dhoni stole his thunder in the second innings of the match by bludgeoning the ball to the stands.

However, the CSK captains's knock proved futile as the Chennai based franchise lost by four runs, after getting through similar situations twice before in the 11th edition of the cash rich tournament.

Kane Williamson's Sunrisers too registered a win in their last match against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

While Sunrisers are at the second spot in the IPL standings with six points, Kings are a step lower with four points.

The only match of the day is scheduled to begin at 8 pm.
